Trends thru recent times have ventured towards things that are organic. An increase in the demand for organic food has triggered a demand for other things organic too. Not far behind is the fashion industry which is now making an attempt to go with the latest clothing trends. The employment of organic materials for creating attire is bit by bit gaining popularity also.

Organic materials
As with all things organic, organic materials in the garment industry milk plants which have been grown naturally as sources of fiber in creating differing types of textile. Organic materials don’t utilize plants which have been treated with insecticides or other harmful chemicals nor do they utilize plants which have been genetically altered. And as with all products claimed to be organic, materials made organically need to be certified by the US Office of Farming ( USDA ). One example would be organic cotton which isn’t just grown in the US but worldwide too. Organic cotton production now accounts for 0.76 percent of global cotton production, all of which have been grown under standard conditions.

Organic clothing
With the mention of organic clothing, one straight away puts into mind Birkenstocks and other shapeless, minimal designs. Current trends nevertheless , show that more and more outlets are opting to use organic materials in making different types of attire. Though many designers make use of organic materials while selling them at steep prices, many retailers nowadays eg the Gap, L.L. Bean and Levis have begun to offer clothes at more reasonable price ranges. Infant wear and even different kinds of bathwear are now starting to use the supply of organic materials as they now begin to incorporate them in their products. Unsurprisingly, corporate clothing lines are also beginning to introduce the utilisation of organic materials into clothes such as shirts and suits as part of the current green trend. In fact , this trend is slowly becoming the buzz in the corporate world.

The necessity to go green
As with all who recommend the necessity to go green, part of the reasons why organic material is slowly becoming more popular is on account of the necessity to protect the earth from further environmental risks. Unlike organic materials, the use of plants for the production of fabric involves much use of manure and insecticides to keep up with world demand. Nevertheless the use of these chemicals also leads to reaction with the soil in which they grow which, eventually lead to an eradication of the environment.
Furthermore, with an increase in the frequency of cancer in todays world, certain analysts believe that this may be caused by these different chemicals. Apart from cancer, other health issues such as allergies and asthma can be due to these chemicals too.

The need to go green glaringly doesn’t end in food. Though concerns have been started by the agricultural industry, it is but proper that other industries follow as the advantages greatly outweigh the drawbacks. The clothes industry is surely not an exception.

.

Do not let Kermit (not anti-eco naysayers call it) fool you. It can be easy to be green. You only need the first arm yourself with a little knowledge and perspective. The primary goal of green living is to create a lifestyle that can hold while they are in harmony with your surroundings. This goal extends to our closets, but the fact is that not all of us are capable of nothing but organic cotton and locally spun wool to buy. Fortunately there are other ways to eco-chic and they come from three, easy steps to remember:. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Reduce

We love clothes as much as anyone, but acquiring them will actually just doesn ‘t no longer made sense. Instead of chasing every trend and every sale, approaches fashion with a slow and steady approach. Buy quality items that can be used in different ways and for a long time. You save money in the long term and skip having to throw heaps of cheap, unworn clothing
Other ways to reduce include buying locally produced brands -. Or at least in your own country. This reduces the distance your wardrobe has made to end up on your body, thereby cutting the carbon footprint of your closet.
Reuse
If you’ve followed the above step, then your clothing should be neatly made. This means that you do not have to run and buy a new coat every year, you can “reuse” your one from the previous year (s). This is the key to the foundation documents, you can refresh your style every season with less expensive products such as tees and small accessories.
Besides reusing your own wardrobe, you have someone reuse. If you feel weird going into thrift stores, that’s a problem you need to get over, and quickly. Stores buying used means you spend less, save a garment from the landfill, and, in many cases, to contribute funds to a charity cause. Plus, you have a good chance of finding something that not everyone possesses and their therapist. And we know that the original is absolutely chic – eco or not
Recycle
Finally, if you are not a thrift store, you must donate to a mall .. You might have grown out of your low-cut mini-dress phase, but that does not mean your stock belongs in the trash. There are many thrift stores and nonprofit organizations that will use your donation to the less fortunate, and monetary rewards come in the form. Resale shops will buy clothing that’s in good condition and still relevant. If your clothes are irreparably damaged or just worn in the grounds of years of use, it would be inappropriate for them to donate. Instead, look for a textile bank which various substances for reuse in other furniture and textile industries.
Another way to recycle “recycle” your garment. This can be as simple as giving a dress a dye job or as complicated as making a quilt from your old clothes. Other ideas include the use for repurposing of old scarves to wrap small gifts tees and cut to use as household rags.
Urban Ecology >

Every year fashion week events in cities around the world are the focus of the apparel community and its many fans. Fashion shows in major cities like New York, Paris, Tokyo and Sydney devotees signal to the new styles and trends in the pipeline for the coming fashion seasons. For 2011 there is a trend on the horizon that is not related to cut or color. This year, it seems, Fashion Week has gone green. Last September
celebrity stylist-turned-eco stylist Myriam Laroche launched the official Eco Fashion Week in Vancouver. The event featured seasonal collections from established earth-friendly labels as Prophetik and Nixxi (seen above photo via ecofashion-week.com). Aveda Beauty Company was one of the major sponsors of the event and helped to organic and locally grown food for people behind the scenes to offer. In addition to presenting new clothing and accessories, the Eco Fashion Week hosted discussions and workshops that sustainable fashion and its future in the broader market covered. Participants noted that the week a real public interest in clothes that considers environmental impact and many believe that ultimately there is no need for a separate fashion week for sustainable design. In fact
are identified, green labels are already on the scene in the great mainstream markets. For example, the emerging Malaysia Ultra label is displayed at Paris Fashion Week this year. The young label incorporation in the biggest stage in the fashion world is a good indicator of the kind of integration that will be required for a sustainable manner to be the norm rather than the exception.
More evidence that the planet-loving style is moving to the mainstream is the recent announcement that the Norwegian Oslo Fashion Week officially banned from the fur off and landing runways. The ban was a result of the efforts of Mote Mot Pels (Fashion Against Fur) – a group founded prominent fashion designers, stylists and editors. The move had the backing of major media outlets like Elle and Cosmopolitan Norwegian Norwegian.
It’s great for things like Eco Fashion Week, where designers get the sustainable spotlight they deserve, but it can not otherwise get. However, the transformation of the fashion culture arise when eco-fashion is not a subset of the industry and in fact not even a name. The tide seems to turn, so expect more and more green style at Fashion Week to show the world every year. We hope
At The Urban Ecology we support these brands – a status that sustainability will soon be taken for granted. We offer a place to make that choice. Each label in this website has gone through an extensive process to ensure that they all they can improve and maintain the best standards regarding the environment and sustainability do. Of course there is no explanation that all conditions but each label is shown in their own context covers the best practices.
It is sometimes frustrating to see that the only eco-friendly clothing we could find were not items we would like to wear. So we have really tried to get some seriously good urban style to offer.
Urban Ecology

Eco-Tech, Eco-Chic: The future of sustainable fashion
One of the worst misconceptions about sustainable living is that it asks us to return to a life of living in caves and wearing sackcloth. Of course, this is far from true. Rather than shun technology, realistic (and enjoyable) to use green lifestyle technological progress as an advantage. As sustainable living in general, the future of eco-fashion rely on innovation and technology to the earth-consciousness to propel an alternative way of life is the norm for everyone.
The Internet has revolutionized many aspects of modern life and fashion is no exception. One of the main effect is the internet’s power to connect people around the world. This has led to a much larger crop marks from customers and the fashion market was reaching a global community of species. On the production side of the coin is connected late eco-conscious designers to connect with other players in the fashion chain that is also committed to sustainability. The website allows designers and retailers are looking source4style.com a database and connect with the world’s top sustainable suppliers and service providers. Whereas only a few years ago, a would-be eco-fashion designer would have been discouraged by the sourcing problems, sites like source4style now even novices to get into the game while maintaining their values.
While the Internet is clearly here to stay, part of modern life, others are still trying to advance a foot on the ground. A sector on the eve of the revolution the production. According to the NY Times to 15% of all material used to produce clothes end up in landfill. That is a huge waste! Innovation pattern making and production equipment to reduce or eliminate this waste, as part of the so call “zero waste” movement. Here a new technique created by Siddhartha Upadhyaya pieces of a blower that were cut from cloth, but woven right into the desired shapes required to construct the garment.
One of the major impediments to making the mainstream method is that the current machines in garment factories around the world should be completely revamped or replaced, the large overhead costs for manufacturing firms means. But the tide turns, as evidenced by the inclusion of Zero Waste design classes renowned fashion schools such as Parsons in New York City. A new generation of designers are taught their craft to see in a whole new way and over time, industry dinosaurs will be forced to evolve or perish.
Another way to a sustainable fashion to ensure that it maintains its aesthetic and structural integrity for as long as possible. A new technology that addresses this effort is a permanent dye from a company called DyeCat, these bonds are to substances at the molecular level. This means your clothes will remain bright light imaginable, for ever and they will not ruin your lights by bleeding into the rest of your laundry.
Ultimately, all our modern conveniences were once new and strange in a world that may appear resistant to the inevitability of change. But if more people start the importance and value of sustainable earth-friendly fashion that will begin to understand the norm.
Urban Ecology

We can fully improve the well being of a baby along with better health by introducing ourselves to the life of nature friendliness. The best way is to be aware of the organic products in our day to day life as an inborn trait.

For this purpose we have to be sure of the organic products first. The organic products cannot improve the health of the baby in the real sense but they make sure that the products are free from polluting substances.

Basically, the organic products are the ones which are made from bio degradable substances. The substances are derived from the plants and animals which decompose into bio degradable components when discarded. Thus no unnatural compounds are being used for the making of organic materials.

We have to be sure that the baby products which are supposed to be organic are safe for them. The BPA free products and bottles are the ideal solution in this regard. BPA poisoning is a serious concern for the well being of the babies.

The adults have a well developed immune system and they are prepared to tolerate the imperfections and reactions caused by plastic products. But, as we are aware we have to adopt a proactive attitude on this in respect of children who are a weaker immune system. When we take the bottles for the children we have to be cautious about the effects of temperature and the sensitivity of the products.

When exercising extra caution, be aware that there are many alternatives available for using organic products. They include different bio degradable products. For instance reusable diapers, organic cotton clothing, natural diaper changing pads, and bio degradable bath products .

Certain products which we use traditionally for the babies are made by plastics, for example the baby pacifiers. When you are reluctant to expose your baby to plastics, there are baby pacifies which are made of natural rubber with adequate safety precautions like large mouth guard to prevent chances of choking.

We have to not only be interested for the well being of our children but we have to understand fully the various descriptions and meaning they hold. Take extra care for differentiating various characteristics of the products. Some of them may be making tall claims but we must be able to differentiate them from the real deal.
