Green House And Its Requirements, Its Relevance For The Environment

The ambiance of a perfect environment is not the only requirement to fulfill in selecting a green house. When perfect environment conditions play their part, the location of your house also has its own importance. The availability of your daily needs must be within a reasonable reach. When you drive around for your basic needs everyday for a considerable distance, the proportionate consumption of fuel cause pollution.

There is a simple yard stick to measure the criteria for a green house. Normally there are two types of houses. The first one will be a house whose location is with clear environment and the availability of all your daily needs are within normal reach. The second house would be where there are satisfactory conditions for a perfect environment but it is far away from where you can buy your daily needs. We can classify the former one as the green home because of the simple reason that you are saving quite a bit of fuel and energy for your daily needs.

In most of the cases the perfect condition is a far cry, that is to have a good location and a good environment simultaneously is rare. The alternative to this is to make it near perfect by becoming self reliant. Some of the simple requirements for self sufficiency is to have a well tended garden which can give enough food for a normal family and for energy requirements having some sort of indigenous methods. This may be harnessing of solar energy duly supported by water/wind mills within the compound itself.

There will be a common meeting point if these two conditions are met. The green houses of this nature will be less dependent for their energy supply from their local grid which means more contribution towards a better environment.

Now that you have reached a point with reasonably good environmental conditions do realize that there is still room for improvement. You are self sufficient for your many needs or that is easily available and you are drawing less power from your local grid. Still you can add towards perfection by being selective in getting energy saving appliances which are duly certified to that effect.

There is a concept known as energy star home. In spite of all good conditions you can still make it more perfect. This is going for the architectural design of the house with energy saving construction. With this you will find your home as cooler in summer and warmer in winter thus reducing the use of air conditioning and heating ultimately saving electricity.

We will feel rightly about the initial cost for a green house. For many it indeed is prohibitive. We have to take a proactive attitude to get over this problem. What we have to do is to concentrate on the long term rewards on this.

We can not assume that by owning a green house our contribution towards the environment has stopped. We have to continue to strive on this. We can do this without much effort and expenses. While going for the cleaning materials, we have to just insist on the products which are bio degradable. With our simple persuasion we can try and raise awareness amongst like minded people to boycott the products which are likely to damage the environment. People will take example from you as the ideal person who has not sacrificed or compromised the comfort of living, and at the same time as an environmental friendly person.
