Alternative Source Of Conventional Energy

The sustainable energy is the one we are eagerly waiting for. The reliability of fossil fuel for long is not dependable. The disappearance or the slow depletion of fossil fuel is a reality.

Enough research has already been done for the alternative fuel supply and is still carrying on. Since this is a serious concern of loosing the permanent source of energy, the world is on the lookout of alternative source of energy which in other words is known as sustainable energy. The world is looking for a successful solution.

Sustainable energy has the sources as sun rays, wind power and wave power. Also there is geothermal power with the limited availability in the world. Out of all the solar energy is getting full attention of the scientific community.

If the enthusiasm for the environment protection is your fort, you can contribute several things for the sustain ability of the environment and for the sustainable energy. You have to take the solar energy challenge. If your place receives ample sun rays and you have an independent roof on your house, you can install solar panels. You will be contributing your own share for solar power. By this you will be able to strike a balance with the power from the local grid and the power from the solar panels and save what ever little amount of energy there is to save. This excess energy can be sent back to your local grid and be eligible for the receipt of financial reimbursement.

The other sources, wind and waves are normally beyond the reach of common people. But there is a ray of hope, provided if you are staying in a country side where the fast streams are within your reach you can think about a water mill or a wind mill.

But a discouraging factor is that we can not depend on such energies as far as what we see today. There are electric cars and the cars which run on ethanol but they are all the beyond the reach of the common people financially.

The car with perfectly turned engine can reduce the fuel consumption and the battery powered car can be used for short drives but the reliability of the battery for the electric car is doubtful.

The knowledge and reliability of sustainable energy is still in its infant stage. With present trend and the concern for future generations we can expect a remarkable innovation in the near future.

Environment Friendly Buildings And Their Impact

It is a hard choice for us when we think about owning our own house whether it has to be in line with the nature or it has to be with solid cement blocks with artificially modified air circulation. The later is the easiest solution. But it is a welcome change in the general concept of many that one should have the environment friendly home as the first choice. The lasting value of the planet is getting importance in the attitude of life of many.

An environmentally sustainable building has to have the following minimum requirements:

It is not impossible to get this conditions but is difficult. But you can take a small step towards that end. You may not succeed to have the fully natural building materials but you can insulate your existing home with insulation to keep the warmness during winter and coolness during summer. With the help of certified energy complaint appliances we will reduce the consumption of power.

With the combination of these two aspects i.e. the energy complaint appliances and the natural adjustments of the temperature inside the home we will be consuming lesser energy from our local grid. The grid in turn will be producing only the required power which is going to be the effective and economical production of power resulting into lesser contamination of the environment.

The drawing of lesser power from the grid will mean lesser power bill. In the present economic scenario the saving of bill is an important economic step.

One of the other criteria is that the building has to be bio degradable. This is a condition which can not be accepted in the apparent sense. Building material here is defining about their degradation after a centaury or so. After a century or so what will happen is anybody’s guess. The same fate awaits for the traditional buildings too but the difference is that the traditional buildings after a century or so will reduce to debris and will remain in the earth but the bio degradable building materials mingles with the earth.

All supposed to be sustainable buildings are not bio degradable. The stones will last longer. The solution to this is to have your own stones from the site of the building itself.

Getting the stones from outside will create quarries. The quarries are another threat to the environment with its deep and steep opening in the earth.

Though there are many bottle necks for the environmentally sustainable buildings, it is one of the very right steps for a healthy environment.

Organic Products – The Best Solution For Environmental Protection

It is not very easy to take the organic way of life. But it is the only alternative for healthy living. You can make a big difference when we start supporting the organic products. We can be sure that by this support that we are contributing in our own way for the removal of many harmful chemicals from the environment, and the suggested name is chemical free environment.

It is a known fact that organic products are costly because of lesser availability. Here we have balance the big benefits which we are going to accrue for the future generations by our little contribution today. Moneywise, safe guarding of flora and fauna for our future generation is priceless.

There are few exceptions as in the case of all other general things. All organic products are not blame less. So we have to take little extra caution while going for the organic products. True organic products are not mingled with any sort of artificial additives or any sort of colorings to make them more attractive.

The organic product industry is relatively new to the field as a result of this it has not covered with the comprehensive regulations yet. What we have to do is to understand as far as possible from the certified label of the products. In any case we have to make efforts to confirm the authenticity of the organic products.

Another method of making sure of the organic products are by being selective in our approach to see that the products are having the certification of fair trade regulations. The fair trade regulation is aimed at the developing countries for ensuring that the people engaged in the production of organic food are treated fairly and paid adequately. We can be almost sure that such labeled products are authentic.

The main benefit of using organic products is that they are supposed to be totally free from the harmful elements like the cancer causing elements. It is particularly helpful for children who are prone to health hazards. It is a confirmed fact that the human body can not flush out all the harmful substances. We have to live with the reality that the food that feeds your food is in the food you eat. But what we have to do is to limit the quantity.

The longer you are exposed to, the more you are prone to such diseases. The acceptance is growing day by day for the organic products. This awareness has to go further.

The excellent publicity measures and the efforts of the organizations like green peace movement etc are paying its way up slowly and consistently. The internet has come a long way in spreading the awareness. There are many specialized retailers who have ome up and many more to come. We can very hopefully expect that the demand will further go up and the expenses will also progressively come down.

The Facts About The Organic Cotton

It is better to have a clear understanding of organic cotton. The cotton which has been grown in the cotton farms without the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. So it is naturally understood that such farms are causing the least damage to the environment.

If the cultivation of organic cotton is truly done on without the use chemicals, it will result into the non- mixing of the harmful residues in the steams. Non- mixing of the chemicals into the stream further means the pollution of the ocean is avoided. This will ultimately result into the oxygen rich ocean and not the dead zones as we are seeing in the Gulf of Mexico. Since we are discussing about the organic cotton we are mentioning of only cotton. But this is applicable in other areas of cultivation too.

We have to accept the fact that the organic cotton is expensive. The fair trade variety is still more expensive. The fair trade variety means the products from the developing nations where the remuneration for those engaged in the production of organic cotton is fair and equitable, in other words they are not to be exposed to exploitation. This regulation make the organic cotton with the label of fair trade is dearer and expensive. But this also does not give a full confirmation to the fact that the organic cotton is indeed organic.

The yet another way to identify the genuineness of the organic cotton is the label of fair trade variety. The fair trade organic cotton is expensive for the simple reason that it comes from a special code of conduct and is applied in third world countries. There is a special regulation to provide fair wages and service conditions for the people engaged in the production of organic cotton. Though the fair trade regulated products are reliable in its contents, still they are not cent percent reliable for the obvious reasons.

Many of us still doubtful to accept the organic cotton to be the right choice. For them to take the confirmed stand, they have to visualize and understand the consequences of the worst result of the environment pollution. There are places where the organic farming are encouraged and where the normal way of non organic farming is taking place in large scale. Again compare the expenses which are involving for the restoration of the environment. The expenses for the restoration of the environment are purely of man made. The expenses of this nature is rightly meant for other developments like education, roads etc.

it is true the government is bound to bear expenses of this nature. But who is the supplier of money for the government to undertake such expenses, it is the people who are the tax payers. So we have to help the government to rightly spend the taxes by doing our own part. Keeping the environment healthy is one of our responsibilities.

There is not much differences in the textures of organic cotton and other type of cotton. But only the people who are susceptible to allergic reaction will appreciate the organic cotton fabrics. The organic living has to be our part of living.
